Qatar Drives Women's Empowerment Agenda at UN CSW69 Ministerial Roundtables
H E Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, representing the State of Qatar, actively participated in the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
During her participation, Her Excellency joined the ministerial roundtable Beijing+30, where she emphasized the critical role of accelerating social protection efforts in promoting the rights of women and girls and fostering an empowering environment across all sectors.
She also participated in a second ministerial roundtable on national mechanisms for achieving gender parity and women and girls' empowerment. During that session, Her Excellency reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to implementing the Beijing Platform for Action, stressing the importance of allocating necessary resources and expediting its implementation at the national level.
'We must ensure women and girls have access to opportunities and resources that enable them to contribute to society fully,' stated Her Excellency. 'This meeting also aims to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.'
Her Excellency shared her perspectives on sharing expertise in financial inclusion and investment, highlighting Qatar’s dedication to supporting international efforts in addressing global challenges.
Furthermore, she joined a partners’ roundtable on the importance of core resources for women and emerging financing partners, where she discussed strategies to enhance women's economic and social participation.
Qatar remains committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls globally."
