Privacy Policy
The Ministry of Social Development and Family is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of personal data and works to protect it in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law of the State of Qatar No. (13) of 2016.
The Ministry recognizes the importance of protecting the personal data of all beneficiaries, employees, and stakeholders. The necessary policies and procedures have been prepared and approved to ensure that personal data is collected, used, processed, and protected securely when using the Ministry’s electronic services and platforms, in compliance with the applicable legal requirements in the State of Qatar.
Based on this commitment, the Ministry clarifies below the mechanism for handling personal data as follows:
1- Collection and Use of Personal Data
The Ministry of Social Development and Family collects the personal data necessary to provide its services and carry out its functions through the approved entities, platforms, and means in the State of Qatar, and in accordance with the specified purposes pursuant to the applicable laws and regulations.
2- Processing and Protection of Personal Data
Personal data is processed lawfully and securely for specified purposes, ensuring its accuracy and integrity. The Ministry of Social Development and Family has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data, and to reduce the risks of unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction, in accordance with the applicable legal requirements in the State of Qatar.
3- Transfer of Personal Data
Personal data shall not be transferred or shared except as required by law or with the competent governmental authorities, in accordance with the approved controls and procedures that ensure the protection of personal data. Personal data is processed within the Ministry’s internal cloud environments and may be transferred to secure external cloud environments, while ensuring the implementation of all necessary technical and organizational measures to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data.
4- Retention of Personal Data
Personal data is retained only for the period and purposes for which it was collected, in compliance with the data minimization principle, whereby only the data necessary to provide the Ministry’s services and perform its functions is collected and processed, in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
5- Rights of Individuals
The Ministry of Social Development and Family guarantees the rights of data subjects, in a manner that does not conflict with the provisions of the law. These rights include the right to access personal data, request its correction, withdraw consent, or request its deletion once the purpose of its collection no longer exists, provided that this does not conflict with the public and national interest and in accordance with the applicable laws in the State of Qatar. The Ministry ensures that individuals can exercise these rights easily, clearly, and transparently.
Consent
The use of the Ministry of Social Development and Family’s website and its electronic services constitutes an acknowledgment and consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with the legitimate interests of the Ministry, as outlined in the above Privacy Notice.
Amendments to the Privacy Notice
The Ministry of Social Development and Family periodically reviews this Notice to ensure continuous compliance with the provisions of the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law and the national guidelines issued by the competent data protection authorities. Periodic reviews and audits are conducted to ensure continuous improvement of privacy and information security practices. Any updates to this Notice will be published on this page upon approval.
