MSDF provides training program of accounting and financial practices to private associations

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has provided training program for accounting and financial practices to private associations. 

A two-day training workshop entitled ‘Explanation of the Procedures Manual’ was organized by Department of Private Associations and Institutions of MSDF, in cooperation with the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants.

It targeted heads and members of association for enhancing awareness of the best accounting and financial practices, and raising the efficiency of associations in managing their financial and administrative resources.

The workshop was presented by Professor Kamal Al Awrani who reviewed the accounting and financial guide prepared by the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants, which aims to provide clear and comprehensive guidelines on managing the financial resources of associations.

It includes various sources of revenue such as donations, government support, and subscriptions, and how to record them according to international accounting standards.

The workshop also addressed the guide to managing expenses, contracts, purchases, and financial reports, with emphasis on applying the principles of governance and transparency.

Professor Kamal Al Awrani addressed several topics in the workshop, including: First: The legal framework, where he explained Decree Law No. (21) of 2020, with a focus on regulating financial and administrative operations. Second: Financial reports, the importance of preparing periodic reports and adhering to international accounting standards. 

Third: Transparency and accountability by presenting mechanisms to enhance transparency and combat corruption in associations. Fourth: Financial planning by developing strategies to improve the sustainability of associations and diversify sources of income.

Regarding this workshop, Naji Al Ajji, Director of the Department of Associations and Private Institutions at MSDF, said that this workshop comes within the Ministry’s efforts to support good governance in enhancing transparency and achieving sustainability in associations. 

It also plays a prominent and distinctive role in serving the community in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants is keen to implement many workshops and training courses by employing a group of experts and specialists in the field of accounting and auditing. 

It also pays great attention to the process of setting the necessary controls to train accountants and develop their performance.

The Ministry stresses the continuation of cooperation with professional bodies, such as the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants and other associations, to prepare training programmes and guidelines for private associations and institutions sector.
