MSDF launches "Winter Bazaar" to Showcase Qatari Crafts and Empower Home Grown's Owners

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, in partnership with the Arab Museum of Modern Art, is launching the “Winter Bazaar” at the museum’s garden on Thursday, January 9, 2025. This weekly event, spanning three months, will offer a platform for Owners of Home Grown Projects to exhibit their unique creations and celebrate Qatar’s rich cultural heritage with a contemporary twist.

The bazaar aims to support Home Grown Projects by highlighting the crucial role of Owners of Home Grown projects in bolstering the national economy. The Ministry of Social Development and Family is dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for all members of society, especially by empowering women to actively participate in various sectors.

Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, the event strives to foster human and economic development while empowering individuals and creating sustainable opportunities. The bazaar will showcase a diverse array of products, including ceramics, gypsum crafts, recycled wood, and traditional Qatari cuisine, crafted by ten local families. This unique blend of heritage and innovation will enhance public awareness of the value of Home Grown Products.

“The Winter Bazaar is a significant stride towards empowering Owners of Home Grown Projects and showcasing their creativity across diverse fields,” said Ms. Fatima Al-Naimi, Director of Family Empowerment at the Ministry. “It also underscores the ministry’s commitment to enhancing women’s role in community development and supporting Home Grown Products to build a diversified and sustainable economy.”

The Ministry cordially invites the public to attend the bazaar, emphasizing that it is integral to the national endeavors to achieve all the pillars of sustainable development outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. The event is anticipated to contribute to empowering Owners of Home Grown Projects, preserving cultural heritage, and providing a sustainable marketing platform to exhibit their creativity to a wide audience.
