MSDF Completes Financial Literacy Workshops under National Strategy 2025-2030
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, has concluded a series of specialized workshops on effective money management. The workshops, held throughout August 2025, are part of the third National Strategy (2025–2030).
This initiative, a partnership with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) and the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA), aims to instill a culture of sound financial management and promote economic sustainability for individuals and families.
The workshops covered several vital topics relevant to the economic realities of Qatari families, empowering participants to make informed financial decisions that improve their quality of life and financial stability.
The series began with the workshop "Consumption Tools: Smart and Responsible Use" at the Qatar Finance and Business Academy. Trainer Hamed Al-Shaibani emphasized that "being aware of consumption tools does not mean deprivation, but rather the optimal use of financial resources." Participants received practical models and tools to help them manage expenses effectively and make informed consumption decisions, thereby enhancing personal and family financial stability.
The workshop "Early Preparation and Financial Planning for the Future" was held at Al Rayadah Girls Center. Trainer Lolwa Al-Khuzai highlighted the importance of early financial planning as a cornerstone for building a secure financial future, noting that setting clear goals and realistic financial plans helps avoid crises and achieve long-term stability.
In collaboration with the QCPA, MSDF organized the workshop "Personal Loans and Their Impact on Life" at Al Khor Girls Center. Presented by Dr. Jameel Mohammed, the session explored the concept of loans and their various impacts on individuals and families, focusing on practical solutions and effective strategies to help participants responsibly manage their financial obligations and avoid long-term financial difficulties.
The month's activities concluded with the workshop "How to Build Successful Financial Habits" at Al Rayadah Girls Center, led by trainer Maha Al-Sulaiti. The session covered the roots of financial behavior, distinguishing between positive and negative habits, the importance of saving, creating personal budgets, and understanding financial concepts like compound interest, all to empower participants to build healthy financial habits that foster long-term stability.
Participants expressed how much they benefited from the content. Trainee Nora Mohammed said, "I gained practical skills that I didn't practice before, such as creating an accurate monthly budget and monitoring expenses smartly. I am now more aware of my financial decisions."
Trainee Khalid Al-Hajri added, "I didn't realize how poor loan management could affect my personal and family stability. The workshop was a turning point in my financial thinking."
Mrs. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the MSDF, stated that this initiative is part of efforts to improve the financial management skills of Qatari families. "We are committed to providing workshops that cover various aspects of financial management as part of the MSDF strategy (2025-2030), which emphasizes enhancing financial literacy among community members through specialized programs like the financial awareness program," she said.
Al-Nuaimi affirmed that these workshops will continue monthly as part of a comprehensive plan to empower individuals to face economic challenges. She encouraged all community groups, especially youth, to participate in upcoming programs and benefit from these initiatives that contribute to building a generation capable of managing its financial resources efficiently and supporting the nation's sustainable development.
