MSDF Participates in Expert Group Meeting on Family Wellbeing Index
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) participated in the Expert Group Meeting on the "Family Wellbeing Index," reinforcing joint cooperation with the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC).
The Ministry was represented by Ms. Shaikha Ali Al Marri, Head of the Family Affairs Section. The meeting focused on the objectives and technical pillars of the index to ensure unified efforts regarding family empowerment issues.
The index aims to provide an evidence-based tool to assist decision-makers in formulating family policies by assessing family needs, guiding public policies, determining social investment priorities, and evaluating the impact of family-targeted programs.
Additionally, the meeting sought to reach a technical consensus on the methodology and core components of the index ahead of its official launch during the Doha Conference scheduled for October 2026, contributing to the enhancement of family support policies and elevating the quality of family life across member states.
