MoSDF launches first training course under its financial awareness programme “Aazim”

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF), in cooperation with Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, has launched the first training course within its financial awareness programme “Aazim” (determined).


The course targeted new employees, those intend to get married and indebted people enabling them to spend wisely. The two-day workshop on July 9 and 10 held at Excellence Center for Training and Consulting of Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.


The financial awareness course in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 aims to achieve sustainable development and decent living for its people by educating participants (male and female) on how to save resources.
It also provides training on savings policies and rationalising spending to achieve financial sustainability and spreading the culture of financial awareness in society in a very attractive way.
The first training course, presented by Head of the Training and Programme Development Department at the Center of Excellence for Training and Consulting Dr. Mona Babti, focused on financial awareness.


The course covered several topics, including a documentary film entitled: “Why don’t I spend well?”, the concept and nature of correct spending, the financial age of a person, the skills of setting a personal budget, and strategies for prioritizing monthly purchases, the successful equation: saving versus spending, the twelve skills for saving, and the eight skills for spending, practical training through a proven and successful way, and a realistic application (your white penny for black day), a tour of the world of (indebted people got rich).


Head of the Training and Programme Development Department at the Center of Excellence for Training and Consulting Dr. Mona Babti thanked the Ministry of Social Development and Family for launching this project, which she described as wonderful.
She stressed financial awareness is one of the most important topics raised today in most developed countries to preserve resources that will achieve financial sustainability and ensure decent life in the society.


Babti urged the three target groups - people in debt, those intend to get married, and new employees, in addition to university students - to practicing the best financial policies for a happy life.
A social guidance consultant at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Hessa Al Dhiyab stressed the value of preserving the family’s capabilities, which comes through wise spending and planning for household expenditures.


She added that everyone is required to have the necessary skills and knowledge about the best practices to achieve financial balance in life, and to work to help future generations to live within a rationalisation framework.
Following the directive of Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, financial awareness programme “Aazim” was launched with the support of Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM).


The programme aims at enhancing the awareness of Qatari families and youth about the importance of optimal planning, spending and saving, and avoiding debt for luxury.
This project comes within a comprehensive strategy through which the Ministry seeks to encourage Qatari society to produce, away from irresponsible consumerism. 


This is in addition to preparing future generations to rely on diverse sources of income that are compatible with global changes and preserve the capabilities of the family and society.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, through the Aazim programme, seeks to build financial awareness based on lofty Islamic values in spending, and to use integrated models and means to manage financial life, which has been greatly affected by global economic transformations.


The initiative aims at keeping young people and new families from unnecessary consumerism for luxury by building a conscious and sustainable society that guarantees future generations equal opportunities for prosperity and sustainability.
