"Social Development" launches a project to raise the efficiency of social service under the international accreditation standards CARF
Mr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs, opened the introductory workshop on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Social Development and Family, Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad. The workshop focused on the stages of qualifying social services agencies with the standards of the International Accreditation Authority CARF. The Ministry formed a specialized team to follow up on compliance with international accreditation standards and to build a distinguished social development system in providing services according to standard frameworks and the latest international practices.
The adoption of “CARF” will contribute to increasing the focus on the target groups in the first place, improving communication with them, providing services that match international standards, and continuous improvement based on the satisfaction of the beneficiaries. The CARF system of standards puts the service recipient and his rights at the heart of institutional systems and as a foundation for developing the social work sector.
This workshop provided a framework to raise the awareness of officials and employees of the Ministry and participating centers in understanding the importance of CARF accreditation, and the implementation stages that service providers must know to work on obtaining accreditation.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family participated in the workshop, represented by the Protection Department and the Social Development Department, in addition to the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and its affiliated centers, Al Noor for the blind, Al Shafallah for people with disabilities, the Dreama Orphan Care Center, the Aman Center for Child and Women Protection, the Wefaq Center, and the Ihsan Center.
