Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs Meets OIC Assistant Secretary-General
Doha, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Fahd Mohammed Al Khayarin met on Wednesday with Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Special Envoy to Afghanistan Tariq Ali Bakheet.
The meeting discussed the cooperation between the State of Qatar and the OIC in the fields of humanitarian, social, and cultural work.
It also discussed ways to enhance the bilateral partnership to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and serving target groups in the OIC's member states.
The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging expertise in developing joint programs and initiatives and working to intensify cooperation in the areas of social development, in a way that enhances stability and societal well-being in the region and the Islamic world.
The Assistant Secretary-General voiced his appreciation for the efforts of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Social Development and Family in supporting humanitarian, social, and developmental issues, praising the pioneering experiences and initiatives implemented by the State in this field.
