“Social Development” holds various workshops in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, concluded its participation in the summer centers program that was held for girls from 11-27 July at the Umm Ma`bad Summer Center in Madinat Khalifa Model School, and the Brooq Primary School for Girls Center.

This program includes more than (24) various workshops under the title: Creativity and Entrepreneurship for girls of the following age group (6-17) years with (114) participants. There was an organized cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and a number of ministries such as the Ministry of Sports, Youth, Interior, Defense, Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs and other public and private state institutions.

The Ministry aims, through these various workshops, to hone the talents and skills of the girls, invest their time, and discover and develop the students’ creativity through various workshops such as: a glass painting workshop, a workshop for designing marble coasters through the art of Decoupage, a knitting hats workshop, a recycling workshop, and a workshop for exploiting the art of Decoupage on metal, and more.

Mrs. Aisha Al-Sulaiti, a trainer at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, stated: "The hat-knitting workshop is considered an easy handicraft. The girls learnt how to master the basics of knitting and its various methods. We were surprised by the unparalleled enthusiasm of the girls, as the competition between them seemed strong for knitting and decorating hats, as they finished Work in just two days.”

Mrs. Moza Al-Mansoori, a trainer at the Ministry, confirmed: "The aim of these workshops is to train girls in the art of decoupage through the use of multiple materials that are easy to obtain from the surrounding environment after being recycled in the form of a distinctive hand-made piece of art." She added that the girls excelled in completing the work and adding their artistic touches to the pieces.
