Gulf Child Day celebration

"Social Development" enhances children's Gulf identity in celebration of Gulf Children's Day

In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Social Development and the Family held a Gulf Child Day celebration on Sunday, January 15, at the Social Development Center in Canal Cartier, The Pearl, Building (76).

This celebration of the Gulf Children's Day came based on its consideration as an important day, as all attention was directed to the children of the Gulf to make a special international day for them. It is an ideal opportunity to instill patriotism in the hearts of young people and enhance their both national and Gulf identities.

This celebration also aims to enhance children's sense of Gulf belonging, given the close geographical distances in which the Gulf countries coexist and the nature of social relations and blood ties between them. It works to strengthen the Gulf identity of the participating children, enriching the child's information by introducing him to the heritage of his homeland, in addition to creating a strong generation capable of taking responsibility and facing it in the future.

The visual artist Huda Ahmed Bashel and the accredited trainer Faiza Al Kaabi, head of the Research and Studies Department of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, participated in the celebration of Gulf Child Day.

During this celebration, several educational, artistic, and entertainment activities were held that facilitated the introduction of young people to the customs and traditions of each Gulf country separately, in addition to giving the child the experience of wearing traditional Gulf clothes and raising flags that embody their national identity. The participating children have been provided with important background information on Gulf roots and assets as well as their environment.
