"Social Development" concludes its participation in the exhibition of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least-Developed Countries
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, the Qatar Social Work organization, and the centers under its umbrella concluded their participation in the exhibition accompanying the United Nations conference held in Doha from 5 to 9 March in the least-developed countries. This conference seeks to find radical solutions that contribute to advancing development and prosperity in countries least-developed countries and achieving new dimensions to enhance partnership, cooperation, and the foundations of multilateral collective action in a way that responds to the aspirations and hopes of the people of all countries.
Thus, this participation came in an awareness-raising exhibition to introduce the services and goals of the ministry to achieve sustainable development, accelerate the wheel of comprehensive growth in the social fields, and support the target groups of society, especially the elderly and disabled people.
While the Ministry emphasizes the need to strengthen cooperation and partnership with the United Nations in all humanitarian areas, many of the world's nations, especially the least-developed countries, are in a race against time to achieve sustainable development goals at various social, economic, and environmental levels by 2030. This necessitates the creation of a new global partnership that ensures keeping pace with events and not being left behind.
The Conference is a once-every-ten-year opportunity to accelerate sustainable development in most regions in need of international assistance. It also seeks to take advantage of the full potential of LDCs in a way that helps them move towards prosperity and share experiences to accelerate work towards the 2030 vision.
During the exhibition, brochures were distributed to visitors to the Ministry's private wing and the Qatari Social Action organization to raise awareness and publicize the social and development role played by the Ministry. It also tried to answer the public's questions from the countries participating in the exhibition, to take advantage of Qatar's experience in implementing the sustainability plan. This is due to those countries' need for substantial investments in health, education, and social protection systems to fully implement the 2030 vision.
Through this participation, the Ministry hopes to achieve great progress in its social development and to provide support, expertise, and successes achieved by the Ministry to the least developed countries, based on its firm belief in the importance of this cooperation, especially considering the current challenges the world is witnessing.
