The Social Development and Family organizes a workshop on "Entrepreneurship in Cooperation with "Nama" Center"
In cooperation with "Nama" Center, the Ministry of Social Development and Family held an interactive workshop at “From the Homeland” exhibition in Musheireb, as part of the activities accompanying the exhibition. This exhibition includes a selection of Qatari projects that reflect the Qatari heritage with modern touches. One of the entrepreneurs participated in the first session to share her experience in the world of enterprises and how to meet the challenges with the presence of a group of developing entrepreneurs from participants and the public. The workshop is the first in a series of useful and rich periodic workshops within the national strategy for the advancement of women and the empowerment of young people of both sexes to move towards entrepreneurship.
Ms. Sharifa Al-Ghunaim, a female entrepreneur participating in an exhibition "From the homeland, explained her start with entrepreneurship and how to confront risks bravely despite the stumbling blocks at the beginning of her campaign, especially as she started at a young age. Ms. Al-Ghunaim also encouraged newbies in this area to go through the experience and be optimistic and ignore the negative experiences of failure. she also commended the role of the Ministry and the "Nama" center for their development of these initiatives and the involvement of families and their encouragement toward creativity and entrepreneurship.
The participant, Ms. Sharifa Al-Ghunaim, addressed the presentation of her ideas and explained how they could be transformed into actual work and projects. Following the presentation and selection of ideas, Al-Ghunaim discussed the suitability of these ideas to the needs of the market and consumers, thus developing models of products and marketing, as well as giving them a glimpse of each project's financial expectations.
Not only is this, but she touches on the purchasing power of Qatar's market and the importance of entrepreneurship as a promising area that attracts creative ideas and projects for young job seekers. Sharing her success story in this area, she pointed out the importance of transforming young people into event makers, not just executors and followers, by providing them with the skills necessary for strategic thinking and setting long-term goals that enjoyed innovation in laying the foundations of business.
In addition to similar activities, the workshop aimed at promoting the concept of family production, stimulating, and supporting the spirit of challenge and competition among families participating in a recent exhibition "From the Homeland", which was launched in conjunction with the launch of the Qatar World Cup 2022, and the arrival of fans from all nationalities and cultures. This is seen as an opportunity for Qataris to promote their goods of heritage, familiarize tourists and World Cup fans with the importance of Qatari products, and provide them with an opportunity to learn about women's empowerment, development, and transformation from consumers to producers.
Ms. Munira al-Obaidli, the first business incubator from the "Nama" center, added that the purpose of this exhibition is to build an innovative society and create a culture of production. These workshops and meetings among entrepreneurs are also a unique experience in which entrepreneurs can see whether their ideas are applicable or not, get feedback and advice on their ideas, and find partners to implement these ideas.
Ms. Dhabiya Al-Mekbali, a member of the "From the Homeland" exhibition, confirmed that the Ministry is considered a risk-free environment, where productive families can participate in diving into the world of startups and experience their ideas, success, and acceptance by consumers.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Social Development and Family embraces approximately 600 productive families, which benefit from the sale points allocated by the Ministry to support and encourage these families.
This workshop is held within the framework of the community partnership between the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, and "Nama" center enabling young people who are enrolled in the system of productive families to move towards the entrepreneurship path after their training. It also arms them with the necessary skills and abilities, gives them opportunities for consultation, training, and financing, and supports them in their projects. Those entrepreneurs can contact the Ministry to learn about the regulations and rules of participation to achieve the interests of entrepreneurs, avoiding problems that may confront them.

Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Fahd bin Mohammed Al Khayarin, on Friday, met with HE Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Diene Keita. Al Khayarin also met separately with the Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Rania Hedeya.
