Qatar Reiterates Urgent Global Action to Protect Palestinian Families, Enhance Their Resilience

The State of Qatar prioritizes the Palestinian cause as a central issue in its foreign and humanitarian policy, stemming from the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in backing the resilience of the Palestinian people and defending their legitimate rights, said HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.

Her Excellency was speaking at a side event titled: "Social Protection, Inclusion and Justice: The Suffering of Palestinian Families Under Occupation", organized by the Ministry of Social Development in the State of Palestine within the Second World Summit for Social Development convened in Doha.

HE Buthaina Al Nuaimi urged the international community to take a resolute position that puts an end to the repeated assaults on the Palestinian people, provides global protection for the Palestinian families, and ensures their rights to security, stability, housing, and a dignified life.

What is engulfing the Palestinian people is a persistent humanitarian anguish caused by the long-term occupation, coupled with grave violations that plague families, women, and children, Al Nuaimi cautioned.

She pointed out that the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip has generated massive devastation in residential structures and infrastructure, and deepened the social and economic tragedy.

The Palestinian families live under a permanent threat that deprives them of security and stability, where thousands of them have been missing and displaced, with the number of orphans and widows surging, triggering an urgent international intervention to shield the familial and social fabric and ensure social justice for the Palestinian people.

Finally, HE Al Nuaimi reiterated Qatar's call for unifying global efforts to pressure for ending the occupation and ensuring respect for human rights in Palestine.

She further emphasized that supporting the Palestinian families is a human and moral obligation, whereas protecting human dignity is the essence of real social development.
