Qatar Hosts 42nd Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction

The State of Qatar today hosted the 42nd Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, chaired by Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of MSDF.

In her opening address, Her Excellency expressed Qatar's honor in assuming the presidency of the 42nd session, affirming the nation’s commitment to working closely with fellow Arab states to strengthen cooperation, develop housing policies, and enhance the quality of life across Arab cities.

The Minister of MSDF explained that hosting this significant ministerial session, along with its accompanying technical and dialogue sessions, coincides with the Sixth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, which launched today in Doha under the theme: "Urban Sustainability... For Future Generations."

Her Excellency extended her gratitude to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria for its leadership during the previous session and praised the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States for its continuous role in coordination and follow-up.

In this context, the Minister noted that the State of Qatar places special emphasis on developing the urban environment and improving basic services through the modernization of the housing system and the provision of balanced residential communities. These efforts align with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places human development at the heart of national progress.

She further highlighted that holding this session alongside the Arab Ministerial Forum provides a vital opportunity to deepen Arab dialogue on the future of housing, exchange expertise, and review successful practices that contribute to joint Arab action in this vital sector.

The Minister of MSDF concluded by expressing her aspiration that the ministerial discussions would yield practical directions to support Arab efforts in housing and urban development, effectively addressing the rapid challenges and changes facing modern Arab cities. She welcomed the participating ministers and delegations, wishing the session success in producing constructive results that strengthen the future of the Arab world’s housing sector.

The session discussed numerous issues related to enhancing cooperation and dialogue between Arab countries, the exchange of scientific and practical experiences, and various topics aimed at advancing joint Arab initiatives in housing and reconstruction.
