HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, affirmed that the inauguration of the "Kanaf" Center represents a significant national milestone in the development of the family work system and a practical translation of the state's vision that places the family at the heart of its priorities, based on the belief that the family is the primary fortress of society and that parenting is a national responsibility requiring continuous qualification, knowledge, and awareness. Her Excellency explained that the center is an extension of the "Family First" initiative within the Ministry's strategy and one of the outputs of the Third National Development Strategy aimed at building a cohesive society capable of facing challenges and preserving its identity and values amidst rapid changes. She noted that the choice of the name "Kanaf" reflects meanings of care, containment, and proximity, embodying the center's mission to empower fathers and mothers and provide them with the necessary skills and tools for sound parenting through training programs and educational consultations.

Her Excellency indicated that what distinguishes the center is the comprehensiveness of its programs, which cover various stages of upbringing, starting from the pre-parenting stage, through pregnancy and early childhood, up to adolescence, while highlighting the pivotal role of grandfathers and grandmothers in enhancing bonding and transferring values across generations according to an integrated scientific methodology based on international best practices. She also emphasized that investing in the family represents an investment in the nation's future, stressing that the "Kanaf" Center will serve as a beacon for family awareness and a national platform contributing to building conscious and cohesive generations capable of contributing to the development process.

For his part, Mr. Rashid Mohammed Al Hamdah Al Nuaimi, CEO of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, explained that the center is part of the Foundation’s system aimed at developing family awareness services through qualitative programs based on scientific foundations that keep pace with social changes and contribute to raising parental awareness and enhancing their skills in dealing with upbringing requirements. He stressed that the center represents an advanced step toward establishing the concept of parenting as a specialized field in its own right by providing modern training content based on international best practices and enhancing the quality of services provided to families.

Dr. Mariam Ibrahim Al Malki, Director of the "Kanaf" Parenting Center, stated that the center acts as a scientific reference and a national platform to empower parents amidst accelerating changes and multiple sources of influence on children, explaining that its programs cover various stages of development and include specialized programs for families of persons with disabilities and twins, in addition to supporting educators in dealing with special cases. The "Kanaf" Center is a qualitative addition to the Qatar Foundation for Social Work system, as it operates within an integrated framework with affiliated centers, contributing to the unification of national efforts in family support and building an integrated national model for parenting based on knowledge and prevention. The launch of the center also reflects the state's direction toward enhancing investment in people and the family and improving the quality of services provided to keep pace with social transformations and enhance the effectiveness of preventive interventions, and it is expected to contribute to achieving a sustainable impact by building parental capacities, strengthening partnerships, and establishing a conscious community culture in parenting.
