Prime Minister and MSDF Minister participate in National Sports Day 2025

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of Minister of Social Development and Family HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, witnessed the activities held at Al-Noor Institute for the Blind in which he participated along with elderly people and members of Shafallah center, Al-Noor institute, Dreama center, and other centers under the umbrella of the Qatar Social Work Foundation.

The events witnessed sports and movement activities suitable for different ages and societal groups, with the aim of focusing on raising awareness of the importance of practicing sports and its role in improving the quality of life of individuals and societies and started from 7:30am until 12pm.

The sports activities included various games such as floor billiards, babyfoot, table tennis, badminton, childrens basketball, volleyball, sticky ball shooting, shooting competitions, mini golf, cone and ball races, hoop races, and other games.

The MSDF affirmed the importance of promoting a culture of physical activity and health among the Ministrys employees and members of Qatar Social Work Foundation, as well as all members of society, as an important step to strengthen social connections and enhance the spirit of a unified team to build a healthy and safe society.

Through this event, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of sports activities and the promotion of sports culture in shaping a healthy society, reflecting the close connection between sports and society, as sports play a fundamental role in achieving educational goals and promoting active and effective participation of community members.

In this context, Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al-Jabr Al-Nuaimi stressed that this partnership with the Qatar Foundation and its social centers represents a pioneering model of community cooperation in this year’s Sports Day activities, adding: “Sports enable children and people with disabilities to achieve the principles of social integration and strengthen fraternal relations between individuals. 

The Ministry also highlights the importance of sports activity and promoting sports culture in shaping a healthy society, and reflects the close relationship between sports and society, as sports play a fundamental role in achieving educational goals and enhancing the active and effective participation of community members.

Leaders from across the Qatar for Social Work and its affiliated centers emphasized the importance of sports and physical activity in building a healthy and thriving community during National Sports Day celebrations. Held under the slogan "In Time," the events highlighted the connection between sports and the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Khalid bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, CEO of QFSW, stated, "We are committed to following the state's lead in promoting the well-being of our members through sports and healthy lifestyles."

Ghanem Salah Al Ali, Executive Director of Nama, added, "Our participation reflects our commitment to encouraging healthy lifestyles in line with the National Vision 2030."

"Al Shafallah Center designed five accessible games for members of all abilities," said Executive Director Maryam Saif Al Suwaidi. "This reflects our commitment to inclusion and integration."

Eng. Jabr Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Wifaq Center, stressed the importance of Sports Day in promoting physical activity, stating, “We support the state’s vision of a healthy society and encourage our members to participate in physical activity in a stimulating and family-friendly environment.”

Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of the Orphan Care Center (Dreama), highlighted the role of sports in developing children's capabilities. "Sports are vital for our children's physical and mental development. Through participation, we aim to build their self-confidence and integrate them into society."

"Sports are an important message to the world, consolidating Qatar National Vision 2030," commented Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN). "We at AMAN participate annually in local and international events to enhance partnerships within the social work system."

Mr. Mishaal Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Al Noor Center for the Blind, explained that Sports Day enhances cooperation and community participation. “The center organizes advanced sports programs reflecting Qatar's vision of promoting physical activity for all.”

The day's events included a variety of activities for children, youth, and people with disabilities, and saw participation from the Police College, the Qatar Red Crescent, and Marble Medical Center. These collaborations underscore the community-wide commitment to promoting health and well-being. This year's Sports Day reinforces the national focus on building a healthy and sustainable society as outlined in the third national development strategy.
