MSDF’s Minister Champions Women's Empowerment at the 44th Arab Women's Committee Meeting

Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to advancing women's rights and empowerment during the 44th Ministerial Session of the Arab Women's Committee. The meeting, held virtually and chaired by Palestine, brought together Arab nations to discuss strategies for enhancing women's roles across various sectors.

Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al-Jabr Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, represented Qatar at the session. In her address, she underscored the importance of regional cooperation in addressing the challenges facing women, particularly those in conflict-affected areas like the Gaza Strip.

Minister Al-Nuaimi emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda for Women in the Arab Region (2023-2028). She reiterated Qatar's ongoing support for regional and international efforts promoting gender equality.

Looking ahead, Minister Al-Nuaimi noted that Qatar will assume the Chair of the Arab Women's Committee in 2026. During its chairmanship, Qatar plans to build upon existing achievements and further strengthen initiatives designed to achieve justice and empower women. The Minister expressed her hope for productive discussions and concrete recommendations that will shape a brighter future for Arab women, reaffirming Qatar's dedication to collaborative action and progress throughout the region.
