MSDF participates in Umm Salal Winter Festival
Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, participates in the Umm Salal Winter Festival, held daily in Umm Salal Central Market from 9 am to 8 pm.
The festival opened on November 21, 2024, and will continue until February 19, 2025.
It aims to empower owners of productive projects (Al Watan), enhance their social and economic role in community development, and enhance the national economy.
This festival is a unique opportunity to promote local products, allowing small and medium-sized business owners from productive families to showcase their products and projects to a large audience.
The products on display are diverse, including dates, coffee, sweets, spices, dairy, honey, and agricultural products, demonstrating the diversity and quality of local production.
Director of the Family Empowerment Department Fatima Al Nuaimi said: “Through our participation in the Umm Salal Winter Festival, we aim to support owners of productive projects and empower them economically, in addition to enhancing the concept of local productivity.
“We are also keen to cooperate with various relevant parties in organizing this event, which reflects the Ministry’s commitment to empowering individuals and families to achieve economic and social sustainability.”
She said the festival includes various activities distributed over specific periods, starting with the Dates Festival from November 21 to 30, 2024, followed by the Popular Market Festival from December 5 to 14, 2024.
The festival will witness the Flower Exhibition from December 19 to 26, 2024, and the Honey Exhibition from January 18 to 27, 2025. The activities conclude with the Strawberry and Fig Festival from January 30 to February 8, 2025, and the ‘Kanar’ (Jujube) Exhibition from February 13 to 19, 2025.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family said that this festival reflects the Ministry’s vision to promote a culture of community empowerment and provide an environment conducive to the growth of productive projects.
The Ministry focuses on supporting project owners by providing appropriate platforms to market their products and enhancing the values of local production and innovation.
The festival is attended by many relevant parties to provide technical support to the participants, which contributes to raising production efficiency and enhancing expansion opportunities in local and regional markets.
The festival is expected to witness a large turnout of families and citizens, as it offers a unique shopping experience that combines quality and diversity, in addition to cultural and entertainment events that add a distinctive atmosphere to the event.
