MSDF Participates in the First Extraordinary Meeting of GCC Undersecretaries of Social Affairs and Development

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, participated in the first extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Social Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held this Monday morning, June 8, 2026, via video conferencing.

The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Issa Al-Kubaissi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, alongside heads of participating delegations from the GCC countries and the General Secretariat.

During the meeting, several vital topics on the agenda were discussed, foremost of which was the activation of the "Unified Package of Privileges for Persons with Disabilities in GCC Countries" along with its implementation mechanisms. This comes in accordance with the resolutions issued during the eleventh meeting of the Committee of GCC Ministers of Social Affairs and Development, held in the State of Kuwait last September.

The meeting witnessed a review of the proposed joint facilities and services designed to serve this cherished segment of society, which encompassed four main pillars: identification services and procedural facilities, transportation and infrastructure services, health care services and airport facilities, as well as community and digital access services.

The participation of the Ministry of Social Development and Family in this meeting reflects its firm commitment to developing sustainable social development policies, and its continuous dedication to caring for, rehabilitating, and integrating persons with disabilities into society as active elements and essential partners in the development process, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
