MSDF opens Eid Bazaar in Souq Waqif to support owners of productive projects (Al Watan)
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, has opened Eid Bazaar at the Al Fanah Center, one of the Ministry’s sales outlets in Souq Waqif, from June 1 to 20.
The event aims at promoting the products of productive projects (Al Watan) through participation in various events, festivals and forums organised by the State to empower national productive projects economically.
The initiative aims at supporting owners of national productive projects in developing their capabilities and talents, providing marketing platforms for their products, and increasing their competitiveness.
The move also aims at achieving sustainable economic development for society, encouraging local production in Qatari society, enhancing women’s economic role and diversifying the production base in addition to enriching the labour market and diversifying marketing fields.
Six national productive projects (Al Watan) are participating in Eid Bazaar showcasing various fashion design projects created by Qatari female designers who succeeded in making their own specialties in this field through creativity and excellence while preserving the quality and originality of the fashions demanded by the public.
Regarding the creativity of the owners of national production projects participating in Eid Bazaar, Radhya Al Haddad, owner of Nafnov Qatar project, said: “I started my project during COVID-19 in 2021. The main motive behind the project was my passion for fashion design and tailoring and encouragement of my family and colleagues.
“I specialised in designing jalabiyas that combine authenticity and modernity at the same time for preserving decency and heritage, as well as keeping pace with modern fashion.”
She added: “The Work was difficult during the pandemic due to home quarantine and preventive measures, but I overcame these difficulties and succeeded in marketing my products.”
Al Haddad advised owners of national production projects to try some unique designs and make exclusive products for demonstrating their specialties in this field.
The owner of the Rosa Collection project said: “The project was launched in 2019, it is specialised in designing various fashions for children and adults alike. I find fashion design to be my hobby and my unlimited passion for creativity and excellence.”
She said that her most popular designs are jalabiyas and travel outfits for women, girls and children as well.
The owner of the Rosa Collection project encouraged those who want to start their own project to take advantage of opportunities, put aside fear and hesitation and join the industry.
In this regard, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry Fatima Mohammed Al Nuaimi said: “The Department is enhancing joint cooperation between owners of productive projects (Al Watan) and institutions concerned from government and private sectors following Qatar National Vision 2030.”
She said that the initiative aims at achieving the greatest possible social and economic development among the owners of national production projects in Qatar, taking advantage of the distinguished capabilities of these entities in a way that serves the development of marketing and production skills among the owners of national projects.
Al Nuaimi said that these various activities and participations, awareness campaigns and training programmes are provided by the Ministry for serving the family and society, and achieving its development and financial stability and moral support.
