MSDF minister honours social figures, initiatives at Qatar Social Responsibility Week
Under the patronage of Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the activities of Qatar Social Responsibility Week.
The weeklong event, from October 7 to 14, was held in cooperation with the Excellence Center for Training and Consulting at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and the Regional Network for Consulting, a member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility.
In her opening speech on this occasion, Minister of Social Development and Family H E Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad stressed the importance of the conference, which is held on the occasion of Qatar Social Responsibility Week.
She said that this event is considered distinctive and unique, as it is being organised for the first time under the name of “Qatar Week,” after it was held in previous versions at the general Arab level.
The Minster emphasised the great opportunity provided by this event to motivate companies, institutions and entrepreneurs to contribute effectively to the renaissance of the society.
She added: “The social responsibility is not just a commitment, but a true partnership between the private sector and society. It is not a slogan, but a reality whose results we must see on the ground.”
The Minister also stressed the importance of partnership between the private sector and state institutions.
She added: “This partnership drives us to work towards a more sustainable, secure and interconnected future. In Qatar, we believe that the success of the private sector is not measured only by the profits it achieves, but by their contributions to the positive impact of the society.”
The Minister said that all companies, entrepreneurs, and startups have their roles in growth of national economy.
Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad and President of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Affendi honoured a number of influential figures.
They influenced significantly for building a culture of social responsibility and launched a slew of purposeful and charitable initiatives enhancing awareness about the importance of social responsibility in supporting sustainable development at the national level.
A number of entities and companies have been also honoured for contributing to Qatar Social Responsibility Week Award.
The Minister of Social Development and Family distributed awards to a number of governmental and semi-governmental entities and institutions for their valuable participation in the field of social responsibility.
The Minister honoured the social specialists within the supervision programme to build and develop the capabilities of social specialists, where the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies supervised their training.
In this context, the Minister of Social Development and Family stressed the importance of continuous cooperation between all parties to achieve the sustainable development goals in Qatar, which reflects the state’s commitment to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, by promoting the values of giving and effective participation in various fields.
The Qatar Social Responsibility Week includes a group of events, workshops and seminars that discuss the role of institutions and individuals in supporting social initiatives, enhancing social awareness, and raising the level of awareness of the importance of social responsibility, and encourages individuals and institutions to take effective steps towards improving society.
It highlights the role of social responsibility in supporting sustainable development and contributes to encouraging institutions to invest their resources to enhance community service.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family’s support for this event reflects its commitment to promoting community development practices as an essential part of its development vision.
Qatar Social Responsibility Week is a vital platform that brings together various entities and individuals to contribute to raising awareness and building capacities in this field.
This week is a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of social responsibility, and companies investing their resources and efforts in serving the community.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family made efforts to strengthen society and its institutions, as investing in people is the key to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
In this context, the fruitful cooperation with the Excellence Center for Training and Consulting at the Doha Institute for Studies and the Regional Consulting Network, a member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, was emphasised to build capacities and adopt community partnership programmes in line with the strategic objectives of institutions.
