MSDF Initiative Highlights Grandmothers’ Role in Social Cohesion
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Community Care Department, organized the "Grandmother’s Day" event at the Audio Education Complex for Girls. The celebration, attended by numerous grandmothers and families, featured a festive atmosphere reflecting the values of loyalty and appreciation for senior citizens.
The event aimed to highlight the pivotal role grandmothers play within the family and society, particularly their central influence in raising future generations. It sought to instill values of righteousness and social solidarity, strengthen family bonds, and promote a culture of respect and gratitude for the lifelong contributions of the elderly.
The celebration featured a variety of segments, including showcases of traditional heritage crafts and handiwork, as well as recreational and cultural activities designed to bring joy to the participants. The event concluded with the presentation of gifts to the grandmothers as a token of gratitude for their humanitarian and social impact.
The "Grandmother’s Day" initiative is part of MSDF’s ongoing efforts to support senior citizens and enhance their social integration. This aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to empower families and foster social cohesion, in harmony with Qatar's vision of building a solid and interconnected society.
