MSDF holds workshops for girls within “First Year of Marriage” programme
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has organised workshops within ‘First Year of Marriage’ programme, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the stability of families in Qatari society.
The first phase of the workshops was held from July 8 to 10. The second phase will be organised from July 28 to 31 in Doha Girls Club and Al Khor Girls Club.
It discussed the principles and skills of communication and settlement of differences to ensure the stability of new families through interactive sessions and presentations.
A group of trainers and elite family educational support specialists presented the workshop to provide newly married couples with the necessary skills to deal with the challenges that may arise during their first years of marriage.
A large number of young couples participated in the workshop and showed great interests.
The trainers reviewed the basics of the guidance and counseling process to help couples build strong and stable relationships by improving communication skills and settling differences amicably.
They provided practical advice that enhances mutual understanding between spouses, contributes to supporting family stability, and supports Qatari society by building stable families enabling them to address contemporary educational and social challenges.
Family counseling is provided to couples to help them deal with the stresses of daily life and the challenges of modern parenting.
In a statement, a member of the First Year Marriage Programme team at the Ministry of Social Development and Family , Dr. Tarfa Al Nuaimi, said: “The workshops comes within the framework of our commitment to support Qatari families and providing them with the necessary tools to build healthy and stable relationships, in addition to providing practical advice for a stable and happy married life.”
She added: “We believe that education and awareness are the basis for building a strong and cohesive society.”
By implementing such initiatives, the Ministry of Social Development and Family aims at enhancing awareness of the importance of healthy and sustainable family relationships for building a cohesive and prosperous society.
This is in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which promotes the principles of family and social development.
The Ministry assures to keep supporting Qatari families and provide them with the appropriate environment for growth and prosperity so that all their members are able to deal with various challenges in a spirit of cooperation and understanding.
