MSDF holds workshop on food safety for Palestinian women
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, has held a training workshop on food safety for a group of Palestinian women.
The workshop aimed to educate the participants how to preserve and store foods safely for a longer period.
It comes within the preparation of the participation of these women in the exhibitions and festivals that the MSDF holds to support and empower them.
The workshop was presented by Haifa Abdullah and Sidra Mohammed from the Ministry of Public Health at Al Thumama Residential Complex in the presence of a number of food safety specialists.
The event witnessed intensive training sessions on modern scientific methods for preserving and storing foods, as well as how to adhere to international health standards to ensure the quality and safety of food products.
This workshop comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to empower women economically and integrate them into community development efforts to become productive families.
MSDF works to provide various types of support for these projects through continuous training and providing the necessary resources.
The Ministry is providing marketing platform for their products through exhibitions and commercial outlets. These initiatives aim to enhance reliance on local production and achieve sustainable development for participating families.
In a related context, MSDF continues these tireless efforts to support productive projects in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 by providing programmes and initiatives for enhancing innovation and increasing production efficiency.
The Ministry also provides administrative facilities to encourage entrepreneurs to develop their projects, for achieving economic diversification and sustainability in the country.
Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Fatima Al Nuaimi, in a statement, said: “We are committed to provide all the necessary support and training to owners of productive projects in order to enhance their capabilities and increase their awareness of food safety.”
She said that this workshop comes as part of a series of training programmes which is organise in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health to ensure safe and healthy food products.
Al Nuaimi said: “We are working to empower them by providing marketing platforms for their products to enhance their participation in the local market and support them to achieve economic sustainability for their families and communities.”
The Ministry of Social Development and Family seeks to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors to encourage the investment and production, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 in building an economy based on knowledge and sustainability.
The attendees were given certificates of participation and they were asked to follow the instructions and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food products in the future.
