MSDF Highlights Home-Grown Projects' Success at Al Baraha Event
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, participated in the Al Baraha event in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Heritage, and Arts. The event featured Home-Grown projects and took place in multiple locations, including the Heritage Communication Park in Al Khor and the Qatar Energy Baraha in Dukhan, from February 13 to 22.
Al Baraha featured a vibrant display of national Home-Grown projects, including traditional handicrafts like Sadu weaving, artistic projects such as fabric and cup painting, and businesses specializing in textiles, hospitality, perfumes, coffee, and a wide range of culinary offerings, from traditional Qatari cuisine to ice cream and sweets.
"My project, Sharbt7seeno_, offers toys, sweets, and drinks that evoke the nostalgia of past decades," shared the owner of Sharbt7seeno_, a children's toys and gifts project, at the Heritage Communication Park in Al Khor. "Launched in 2018, I aim to introduce younger generations to the games and treats popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Participating in Darb Al Saai in 2019 marked a significant breakthrough for my business. I advise entrepreneurs to conduct thorough market research and prioritize creativity for success."
Sadiqa Ibrahim, owner of albanafseg.qa, a perfume business also featured at the Heritage Communication Park, stated, "My project specializes in creating a variety of incense, perfumes, and scented sprays. I launched albanafseg.qa in 2021, driven by my natural talent for blending unique fragrances. I've enhanced my skills through certified training courses, both locally and internationally." Ibrahim expressed gratitude to MSDF for providing platforms like Al Baraha, which supports Home-Grown projects through exhibitions and events. "My advice to new entrepreneurs is to remain persistent and determined, prioritize honesty and integrity, and never let the fear of failure deter you."
Fatima Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at MSDF, emphasized the ministry's commitment to supporting Home-Grown projects in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030. "We are dedicated to marketing products from national Home-Grown projects at strategic locations, festivals, events, and exhibitions organized by the state. Additionally, we provide diverse training opportunities and support services to develop their business skills."
The high quality and affordability of products from these Home-Grown projects have garnered significant popularity across various segments of society. The Al Baraha event serves as a testament to the thriving entrepreneurial spirit within Qatar and the MSDF’s ongoing efforts to empower and support Home-Grown projects.
