MSDF Champions Home-Grown Businesses at Awareness Security Exhibition and University Market
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) actively supports local entrepreneurs by showcasing home-grown projects at the Awareness Security Exhibition and the University Market.
The Family Empowerment Department at the MSDF, in partnership with the Ministry of Interior's Community Police Department, is participating in the Awareness Security Exhibition at Al-Dhakhira Youth Center from February 23 to 25 (9:00 AM—12:00 PM). This initiative provides a platform for entrepreneurs to display their products and connect with the public, fostering growth opportunities and contributing to the local economy.
Two home-grown projects are featured at the exhibition: a traditional food service project promoting authentic Qatari cuisine, and "Magic Touch," a project specializing in decoupage art, offering a modern take on heritage through creatively decorated surfaces, glass painting, and pottery.
The Family Empowerment Department's support includes creating a favorable environment for these projects, facilitating direct marketing opportunities, and helping entrepreneurs network with potential customers. This effort aims to stimulate the growth of small businesses, boost the local economy, and cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship.
"This participation underscores the MSDF's dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening their role in society," stated Ms. Fatima Al-Naimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department. She highlighted the collaborative effort with the Ministry of Interior, emphasizing the exhibition's role in raising community awareness and providing a valuable space for showcasing products and accessing opportunities.
Furthermore, the Family Empowerment Department, in collaboration with Qatar University, is hosting the "University Market" from February 23 to 27 at the Student Affairs Building. This event also champions home-grown businesses, providing them with a vital marketing platform.
Among the participating projects is "Ahdi," a planner project offering weekly schedules and an annual calendar with innovative designs tailored for students. These planners help students prioritize tasks, set goals, and stay organized.
The University Market offers home-grown projects valuable exposure to the university community, promoting local products and fostering connections with students and visitors.
