MSDF applies CARF standards in providing services to community

The Ministry of Social Development (MSDF) and Family organised a training workshop for raising the efficiency of the entities providing social services, following international accreditation standards (CARF).

The two-day event, November 10 and 11, was held at Wifaq Family Consulting Center.

The workshop aimed to educate participants about CARF policies and procedures, accreditation requirements, decision-making processes, and the steps required to achieve CARF accreditation for social care centers.

The objective of the event was also to make participants understand the principles of quality, its dimensions and different points of view about it, understanding performance indicators, their types and development processes according to the requirements of CARF.

The workshop focused on the stages of qualifying the social service providers to implement the CARF standards, as the Ministry formed a specialised team to follow up on compliance with these standards to build a distinguished system for providing social services in accordance with the highest international standards.

CARF accreditation aims to enhance focus on target groups and improve communication with them, provide services that comply with international standards, and achieve continuous improvements based on beneficiary satisfaction.

The social development sector of Qatar attaches great importance to beneficiaries. The CARF system priorities service recipients at the institutional system, and supports the development of the social sector.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Social Development and Family from the Social Protection Department and the Community Development Department, in addition to representatives of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and its affiliated centers.

The centers include Al Noor Center for the Blind, Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, Orphans Care Center (Dreama), Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), Family Counseling Center (Wifaq), and the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan).
