MSDF Announces Establishment of Qatari Road Safety Association
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has announced the establishment of the Qatari Road Safety Association. Established under Decree-Law No. (21) of 2020 concerning private associations and institutions, the association aims to raise traffic safety awareness and reduce traffic accidents in Qatar. The association will coordinate with relevant authorities to achieve its goals at Headquarters in Doha.
The Qatari Road Safety Association will facilitate communication among traffic safety stakeholders, working closely with the Ministry of Interior and other relevant bodies. It will also promote the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field and develop a guide to international best practices to ensure traffic awareness campaigns meet the highest standards.
Naji Al-Ajji, Director of the Department of Associations and Private Institutions at MSDF, emphasized the association's vital role in promoting traffic awareness and improving road safety. He affirmed the Ministry's full support and supervision of the association's activities, aligning with MSDF's commitment to enhancing voluntary social work, and community participation, and raising awareness of the role of private associations and institutions, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Salem Saeed Al-Muhannadi, Chairman of the association's Board of Directors, described the establishment as a significant achievement. He highlighted the association's role in connecting traffic safety stakeholders through continuous coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other institutions, creating a knowledge platform and sharing experiences. Al-Muhannadi also outlined the association's objectives, including fostering scientific communication among traffic safety specialists, disseminating scientific information and best practices, and developing a guide to international best practices for traffic safety campaigns.
Regarding community contributions, Al-Muhannadi stated we will focus on developing scientific thought in traffic safety through partnerships with schools and universities. Through this association, we will create engaging cultural and artistic content for social media, integrate traffic awareness with societal values, and collaborate with youth centers and clubs. Furthermore, the association plans to utilize literature, arts, and audio-visual media in its awareness campaigns.
Al-Muhannadi expressed confidence that the MSDF's support will significantly enhance road safety and create a safer traffic environment for everyone in Qatar.
The establishment of the Qatari Road Safety Association reflects the MSDF's commitment to organizing voluntary social work and encouraging community institutions to provide quality services that contribute to a more cohesive and sustainable society. This initiative reinforces the role of associations in raising traffic awareness, reducing accidents, and ensuring the safety of all members of society, both citizens and residents.
