MSDF and NCSA Partner to Strengthen Digital Safety in Qatar

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by the National Cyber Security Academy, recently organized a digital safety awareness workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF). The event was held to address the growing cyber threats facing families and to promote a culture of online resilience.

The workshop, attended by a diverse group of participants, covered essential topics for navigating the digital world safely, which included:

  • Protecting personal data and preventing digital identity theft
  • Identifying and avoiding phishing and ransomware threats
  • Combating cyberbullying and promoting safe online practices for children

"This workshop is crucial for equipping people with the knowledge to navigate the internet safely and build their capacity to recognize and prevent major cyber risks," said Dalal Al Aqeedi, Assistant Director of the Cybersecurity Strategies and Policies Department at the NCSA. "Protecting personal data and fostering awareness of phishing attempts are more important than ever. Digital safety is a fundamental necessity for protecting individuals and organizations in Qatar and worldwide."

Engineer Ahmed Khalil Abdullah, Director of the Information Systems Department at the MSDF, added that the session highlights the ministry’s commitment to adopting best cybersecurity practices and spreading digital awareness among employees. "Strengthening human capacity to engage safely in digital space is a cornerstone for protecting data and ensuring information privacy," he said.

The workshop is part of the NCSA’s ongoing ‘National Digital Safety Initiative,’ which continues to promote cybersecurity awareness across society. It reaffirms the NCSA's pivotal role as the regulator of the national cyberspace and reflects the MSDF's commitment to supporting national campaigns in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
