Ministry of Social Development and Family Empowers Productive Projects Through Its Annual Participation in National Day Events at Darb Al Saai
As part of its commitment to strengthening comprehensive social development and empowering productive segments of society, the Ministry of Social Development and Family is participating in the accompanying events of Qatar National Day, held at Darb Al Saai in the Umm Salal area. This participation comes within the framework of the State’s official celebrations of this significant national occasion and reflects the Ministry’s continued annual presence, underscoring its dedication to supporting community-based initiatives with social and economic impact. The Ministry also seeks to promote self-reliance values and highlight the role of local projects in advancing national development.
During the 2025 National Day season, the Ministry is participating through three productive projects affiliated with productive families. These projects showcase a diverse range of products, including gifts, publications, and handcrafted items that embody the spirit of Qatari identity and the rich details of the nation’s authentic heritage. This creative diversity reflects the high level of skill and innovation among productive families, as well as their ability to transform cultural heritage into products of tangible economic and marketing value.
The Ministry’s participation aims to economically empower owners of productive projects by providing direct marketing platforms that enable them to reach a wide audience of Darb Al Saai visitors. This contributes to increasing income levels and enhancing the financial sustainability of these initiatives. The Ministry also works to promote national products through innovative marketing approaches within an engaging celebratory environment that aligns with the significance of the national occasion and reinforces the presence of local products in the collective consciousness of Qatari society.
The Ministry places great importance on providing integrated support to productive project owners. Its role extends beyond offering opportunities for display and sales to include guidance, mentorship, confidence-building among participants, and motivation to continuously improve product quality, design, and packaging in line with local market requirements and consumer expectations. These efforts align with the Ministry’s vision to transform home-based and handicraft projects into competitive and sustainable productive models.
The product exhibition period will run from 10 to 20 December 2025, daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering visitors ample opportunity to explore national productive projects, purchase their products, engage directly with project owners, and learn about their success stories and inspiring experiences. This participation also serves as a platform for community interaction and raising awareness of the importance of supporting national products and local initiatives.
Through this participation, the Ministry reaffirms that supporting local projects represents a core pillar in achieving sustainable social development, in alignment with Qatar National Vision
2030, which emphasizes building a diversified economy centered on human development and empowerment. These initiatives further reflect the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that National Day remains an occasion to celebrate identity while simultaneously creating opportunities to enhance economic and social growth for the people of Qatar.
The Ministry renews its commitment to continuing its support and empowerment of productive project owners, expanding the scope of their participation in national and community events, and strengthening their role as active partners in development. This embodies the values of belonging, productivity, and dedication that Qatar National Day proudly represents.
