The Ministry of Social Development and Family concludes its national program for training certified trainers as part of the "First Year of Marriage" project

The Ministry of Social Development and Family ended a training course for preparing and training certified trainers as part of its national project "First Year of Marriage”. The training course was organized in collaboration with the Family Consultation Center (Wifaq), the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund, and the Tarbeya Center. (57) psychologist and social workers trainers participated in the training course over two weeks.

The main objectives of the program were to enhance the capabilities and skills of the trainees, enabling them to work professionally, and to improve the abilities of those working in the field of social and psychological counseling. The training course covered various topics, including strategies for building strong and positive marital relationships, early self-awareness, and reinforcing family values to prepare both men and women for marriage.

The training course aimed to equip trainers with the necessary skills to deliver specialized content, enabling them to provide a program that prepares couples for marriage, builds successful marital relationships, and strengthens family values. This was done within the general framework of group training, knowledge of scientific content and the contents of the "First Year of Marriage" project kit, which included key topics such as family values, proper partner selection, building strong marital relationships, the five challenges of marriage, and preparation for practical application. During the training course, trainers presented their approaches and effective strategies for dealing with common challenges faced by couples in the first year of marriage.

The training course offered a distinguished set of knowledge, skills, scientific measurements, and expertise, along with their practical applications. It also covered several key areas, most notably the program on the basics of group training.

The trainees praised the ministry's efforts to achieve the principles of Qatar National Vision 2030, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a cohesive family. They also highlighted the ministry's role and mission in raising awareness within Qatari society about the significance of strengthening family bonds and fortifying the foundations of the family, as well as providing practical projects that deepen both self-awareness and community awareness.

They pointed out that the first year of marriage is one of the most critical, as it often witnesses many problems between the couple. Some of these issues are related to the partner's personality or social relationships, whether with the families of the couple, relatives, or the nature and mechanisms of their interactions. Therefore, consulting experts from the beginning is crucial for choosing a life partner, to prevent the relationship from reaching the point of divorce. Experts provide proper guidance and practical methods for partner selection and supply both parties with important insights about the nature of marriage, ways to handle and resolve conflicts, and other useful skills that can help prolong the marriage.

Additionally, the trainees noted that marriage consultations increase the chances of building a happy, balanced family capable of growth and facing life's challenges, enabling them to establish stable families based on love, compassion, and cooperation.

At the end of the program, Mr. Jabr bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Family Consultation Center "Wifaq," handed certificates and thanked the trainees for their cooperation in achieving the training course objectives, emphasizing the importance of applying the acquired knowledge and skills in their work.
