“Social Development” signs a cooperation document with the Qatar Manpower Solutions Co. Jusour to employ people with disabilities in the private sector
The Ministry of Social Development and Family signed a cooperation document with Qatar Manpower Solutions Company Jusour to provide job opportunities for people with disabilities seeking work in the private sector. The Ministry’s role aims to implement policies related to family and social care in the State of Qatar and emphasize the importance of achieving strategic and national goals in the social protection sector in the country to support Qataris and non-Qataris from target groups such as persons with disabilities, in implementation of Law No. (2) of the year 2004 regarding people with disabilities.
This contribution aims to provide job opportunities for people with disabilities in the private sector on their abilities and needs, as personal interviews will be conducted with job seekers to determine the appropriate job for their qualifications. This cooperation is also considered an opportunity between the Ministry and Jusour Company to achieve the common goals.
For her part, Her Excellency Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs, said that the Ministry seeks, through the Jusour initiative, to activate its competencies towards persons with disabilities. It looks forward to providing suitable job opportunities to integrate and empower them functionally and socially, as the Ministry welcomes private sector initiatives regarding job seekers with disabilities.
She added that the State of Qatar was one of the first countries to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2008. Qatar is a pioneering country protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, noting that this matter is in the State 's National Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Public Health and Mental Health.
As part of the Ministry’s endeavor to empower people with disabilities, the Ministry participated in the Career Day for Employing People with Disabilities, previously organized by the Civil Service Commission. About 35 job seekers registered on the Kawader National Employment Platform, and they had interviews. This step comes as part of the two parties’ efforts to facilitate procedures for employing people with disabilities in various agencies in the country to support and integrate them into society and to provide them with the necessary independence.
It is worth noting that Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) Q.P.S.C. is a Qatari private joint stock company owned by the government of the State of Qatar. It aims to develop appropriate solutions for human resources for non-traditional work, such as self-employment and part-time work. It also provides a platform that invests in human capital and attracts distinguished individuals to it, which includes several programs, including the Sahim program. It was launched last June through the platform of the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour), which serves university students, both Qataris and non-Qataris, including people with disabilities.
Engineer Abdul Hadi Burgan, CEO of the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company Jusour, expressed his happiness at signing a cooperation document with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. The “Sahem” platform supports the employment of people with disabilities in the private sector. He added: Jusourwill provide job opportunities for people with disabilities, both Qataris and residents, and a link has been allocated for people with disabilities through the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company’s website, to facilitate access and browsing for all groups. Pointing out that Jusour launched the (Sahem) platform last June, to serve university students.
Regarding JusourCompany, he said: It is considered a Qatari private shareholding company wholly owned by the state and aims to develop appropriate solutions for human resources. It was established by Resolution No. 391 of 2018 of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, and its Board of Directors is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Labour pointing out that the company's board of directors includes representatives of several bodies, such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Qatar Chamber), Al Jazeera Media Network, Qatar Airways, and Qatar University.
Engineer Burgan continued: Jusour and its partners are implementing many national programs, which aim to provide a platform that invests in human capital and attracts distinguished elements to the State of Qatar, such as the Sahim program and other programs. Stressing that one of the company's goals and priorities is “to be a major catalyst for the labor market and work to enhance communication with other parties and implement initiatives related to its specialty.”
