"Social Development" participates in the "Honey and Kinar" event in Al-Rayyan Park
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Department of Family Affairs, participated in the "Honey and Kinar" event, which is organized by the Ministry of Municipality and represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs.
This participation comes within the framework of the seasonal activities of national productive projects. It also aims to encourage farmers to increase honey production and provide various national products in the local market for the benefit of the consumer and increase the financial return of the farmer. It is worth noting that this event started on the 9th of February 2023 and will be held over the weekend to last for 4 weeks in Al Rayyan Public Park (the green carpet). It also comes under the title “Production from our farms” to promote local farm products.
About supporting local projects and expanding organic agricultural products, many production projects specializing in honey and kinar participated in this event in support of the efforts made by the Ministry of Social Development and its keenness to provide all means of support and development to produce national farms.
To attract the audience and introduce them to the benefits of honey and kinar, all kinds of Qatari farms participated in this event to activate the work of agricultural fields, which motivates farmers to increase production, especially considering the multiplicity of crops in Qatar. Thus, the opportunity for national farms is also significant compared to local crops.
The owners of productive projects expressed their appreciation to the Ministry of Social Development and Family for providing this opportunity, due to the importance of honey and kinar for human health. The kinar fruit contains vitamin (A), maintains the health of teeth and bones, and has an important place in Qatari society, as the kinar is the fruit of the Sidr tree, which is a tree that Qatari homes are interested in planting in their homes. The Sidr tree is found all over the State of Qatar. And honey, which contains iron, zinc, and many other benefits.
The Ministry is keen on the importance of participating in such events to support and market national production projects to increase the production of local national farms. This, in turn, develops the local national economy, as the local production arenas play an important role in promoting the owners of national productive projects.
Moreover, it invites the public to visit this event to support national projects and farms and educate the community about the importance of healthy food in building a generation that follows the rules of healthy and proper nutrition.
The Ministry sheds light on the national and local products of high quality, given that Qatari product is available and accessible to the public. Consumers everywhere motivate productive entrepreneurs to get involved. This is because we are on the verge of National Sports Day, and going to parks is an outlet for families.
Such projects attract the public to support the Qatari product and aim to introduce both the Qataris and residents to the Qatari product. It is also considered a good gesture for the garden-goers who come to enjoy the atmosphere in the garden and at the same time they can buy local Qatari products of high quality.
