“Social Development” launches the Fourth Civil Society Organizations Exhibition 2024

His Excellency Fahd Mohammed Al Khayarin, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, launched the Fourth Civil Society Organizations Exhibition 2024 during the Doha Expo 2023 Horticultural Exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Qatar Charity, in front of several directors affiliated with Qatar Foundation for Social Work.

The fourth session of the exhibition, titled 'Civil Society in the Service of the Family,' featured some social programs and initiatives covering all fields that worked to highlight the role of organizations in their various activities at the social, cultural, scientific, professional, charitable, and educational levels.

Director of the Department of Private Associations and Institutions at the Ministry, Naji Abd Rabbo Al Aji, noted that this exposition represents a significant step in building a partnership between government and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations representing the third sector, which serves as a support arm for them in facilitating and accelerating its services to reach all residents of Qatar.

The fourth edition of the exposition will highlight family services, as a stable family is a sign that a community is distinct and cohesive, and all civil society organizations have participated in this exhibition, Al Aji clarified. He pointed out that the Ministry of Social Development and Family leads to distinguished achievements in the sustainable development process, supporting and encouraging social and volunteer initiatives in all social fields.

Al Aji added that the exposition will result in cooperation and participation between associations and organizations within a joint cooperative framework that serves society and achieves sustainable development.

He stated that Qatari law encourages community participation that regulates the work of organizations and grants their boards of directors elected by their general assemblies of the work freedom to achieve their purposes, reflecting prosperity and development in the State of Qatar.

In turn, HE Director General of the General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al-Thani, confirmed that the exhibition aims to introduce civil society organizations and their role in society and to encourage the presentation of qualitative initiatives, noting that the sponsorship of the General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry The Endowments and Islamic Affairs exhibition came in fulfillment of the slogan, Waqf is a Community Partnership, and in support of various civil initiatives.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family confirmed that this exhibition aims to introduce the community to the services provided by non-profit organizations in the country, adding that the exposition is accompanied by several diverse programs and activities from all participating entities according to their specialization, as 35 entities are participating in this edition.

In this regard, the Ministry explained that the exposition makes it easier for the participating entities to market their initiatives, to have volunteers join to work for them, and to communicate faster between them and members of the community, noting that the exposition is an opportunity to display the activities and initiatives of associations and institutions, as a specific space allocated for each association to highlight its role and services in society.

This exposition paved the way for productive projects From the Homeland to market their products and new productive initiatives that provide their services to society. It also provides a large arena for project owners to achieve their goals by contributing to the process of the national economy, in addition to the fourth participation of productive projects this year with new products that suit citizens' tastes and meet their desires.
