"Social Development" Launches "Appreciation" Service Sponsored by Seashore Group Community-based initiative for the elderly, widows, and people with disabilities
In cooperation with the seashore group, the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the "Appreciation" service, a mobile vehicle that reaches the beneficiaries of social security services, especially the elderly, disabled people, and widows. Private cars arrive at their homes to provide services to them. It is a new initiative aimed at serving and facilitating them, in line with the Ministry's efforts in developing its services.
Beneficiaries of social security services will be able to contact the Ministry by telephone to apply for this service. The Ministry's staff will visit them at their residence to provide services to them, register their applications and transfer them to the relevant departments for implementation in such a way as to provide more comfort to these categories.
On this service, Mr. Ghanim Salah Ali, Chairman of the Projects, and Initiatives Committee stated that the Ministry seeks to provide innovative services to clients to gain their trust and satisfaction, in line with the directives of Her Excellency Ms. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Masnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, by facilitating access to services and providing them to beneficiaries and addressing the needs of these groups.
This initiative also comes within the framework of the Ministry's continuous efforts to care for and honor the elderly category, in appreciation of their contributions and their active role in achieving achievements for the country, and following the teachings of the true Islamic religion and authentic Arab values, and to enhance social solidarity that would create an atmosphere of mercy and familiarity among members of society.
Al-Ali explained that the launch of the appreciation service will help a lot in overcoming many of the difficulties that this segment of society was facing in completing their transactions. Besides, he praised the great role played by the Seashore Group through its continuous support for the Ministry's initiatives, especially in the field of services for people with disabilities and the elderly.
In his turn, Mr. Salem Saeed Al Mohannadi, CEO of the Seashore Group, confirmed that the Seashore Group shows great interest in the elderly and people with disabilities, out of keenness to overcome all the difficulties they face in obtaining the Ministry's services in general.
The Ministry has therefore cooperated with the seashore group to serve the elderly and the disabled to improve the level of its services to them, noting that the allocation of this service indicates the extent of interest in this category, which needs to be affected effortlessly by its appointees. This is particularly for the group of disabled people and older people who need some help in assisting them to rid themselves of their transactions, guide them properly and provide them with amenities.
Founded in 1976, the seashore group is one of the largest economic conglomerates with multiple disciplines in industry, engineering, commerce, and recycling. It is among the companies that keep pace with Qatar's rapid development. It has also socially committed to the economic sector's collaboration with the State to achieve the principle of sustainability, founding the Ata Society, a cultural and social initiative.
