Qatar Participates in 11th Meeting of GCC Undersecretaries of Social Affairs and Development in Kuwait
Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, took part in the 11th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Social Affairs and Development in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The meeting was held today, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Kuwait, with the attendance of Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks from the host country, followed by a speech from the GCC Secretariat General. The working session then commenced, focusing on priority topics in social development to enhance joint Gulf cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise among member states.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Gulf Family Forum was held under the theme, "A Stable Family in a Changing World." Representatives from the Ministries of Social Affairs and Development in the GCC countries presented national working papers, highlighting key initiatives and pioneering experiences in promoting family cohesion and social development. The forum saw participation from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait.
The forum concluded with a discussion and exchange of views among the participants, followed by a commemorative photo session and the announcement of the final statement.
