MSDF’s campaign to instill importance of family cohesion in school students continues
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) is running a campaign in schools to educate the students about the importance of family cohesion and compassion, as part of the ‘Promoting Values’ initiative.
This is within the framework of the awareness campaign for the International Year of the Family under the theme ‘Family is The Treasure of a Nation’ which is organised by MSDF, represented by the Family Development Department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and Family Consulting Center, Wifaq one of the campaign partners.
Awareness workshops were presented, including these workshops, which targeted students, explaining the importance of the campaign and its goal of promoting the value of compassion, especially among family members.
The workshops also included a set of important topics for instiling this value in students, the most important of which are: the importance of compassion among family members, clarifying the importance of the family and the importance of its members’ cohesion through religion, values and good morals, forms of compassion among family members, and the role of compassion in facing family challenges.
This is in addition to the methods and techniques of enhancing the spirit of compassion among family members.
These workshops witnessed a distinguished interaction and participation from students in the activities presented, which contributed to achieving their desired goals.
The campaign will continue to provide awareness workshops in another group of schools for enhancing family cohesion, strengthening cooperation between state entities to spread the culture of integrating roles, and promoting various values, especially the value of compassion, due to its positive repercussions on the family and society.
Values are a fundamental pillar for building a strong and cohesive society. They are the single fabric that connects its members to each other. Values work to enhance social cohesion and strengthen the ties between members of society.
Efforts are being made to support the campaign, by holding workshops to raise awareness of the importance of strengthening the value of family cohesion and compassion in family relationships.
This cooperation comes as an affirmation of the importance and necessity of working to enhance family cohesion as an important factor in enhancing family stability and sustainability and strengthening the bond between family members throughout the family’s life cycle, in unifying the family, and for its important role in achieving loyalty, compassion, sympathy and affection among family members.
To enhance students’ understanding of the importance of family cohesion, the value of compassion, and its impact on building strong family relationships.
A large number of students participated in the workshop, which witnessed great interaction and participation, and they asked questions about the topic.
The workshop focused on the importance of the student understanding himself and his value.
An educated student creates an educated and strong country. Hence, the workshops addressed the role of the individual in the family and the role of the student within his family and how he is able to make the family happier.
On the other hand, family cohesion plays a crucial role in the student’s life. A cohesive family provides a supportive environment that encourages the student to excel, commit to studying, and face the challenges that affect the student’s academic achievement.
The workshops discussed with the students the importance of respecting the teacher, which is considered one of the most important basic moral values in building successful societies.
It establishes the foundation of the relationship between the student and the teacher.
Respecting the teacher enhances the value of discipline and leads to improving the quality of education and increasing the students’ concentration in lessons, as respect contributes to raising the teacher’s morale and directing the students towards success.
In conjunction with the workshop, there was an improved Snakes and Ladders game that contained pictures and phrases that enhance moral values and students’ interaction with the activity.
The students were introduced and discussed with them about their concept of the values present in the game and the importance of values that raise their owner to the top, such as respecting others and helping others.
The ‘Family is The Treasure of a Nation’ campaign was launched with the announcement of Qatar hosting the International Year of the Family, which will be held from October 29 to 31 this year. Qatar will host an international conference to commemorate the 30thanniversary of the International Year of the Family.
