MSDF participates in ‘Road to Social Justice’ international conference

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) participated in an international conference "The Road to Social Justice" which was held on November 5, 2024 in the Republic of Armenia.

Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at MSDF Fahd Mohammed Al Khayarin headed Qatar delegation.

The conference aimed to bring together international representatives from various parties, such as governments, employers and unions, to discuss policies and legislation that guarantee labour rights and contribute to achieving social justice.

It also discusses international obligations to achieve a balance between the requirements and conditions of work and the lives and basic rights of workers.

Social justice including improving wages, providing adequate working conditions, and ensuring social and health protection for workers, are important tools for building a more just and equitable society.

This conference was organised at the invitation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, with the participation of the President of the Arab Gulf Council for Development and the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

On the sidelines of the conference, discussion panels were held simultaneously with the Davos conference, addressing the topics of child labour and education, political responses to labour market challenges, women’s economic empowerment and social justice, social justice and gig economy. The conference also included an awards ceremony for workers in social fields.
