MSDF Organizes “Young Investor” Workshop to Promote Entrepreneurship Among Children

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department and in cooperation with Wathiq Center, organized the “Young Investor” workshop from 24 to 28 October 2026 in Lusail City, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The workshop is part of MSDF’s efforts to promote a culture of entrepreneurship among children and equip them with basic financial skills.

The workshop aimed to introduce children to the basic concepts of investment and self-employment and to raise their awareness of the value of money, the importance of saving and planning, and the difference between needs and wants. It also encouraged them to think creatively and turn their ideas into initiatives that can be developed. Through these activities, the workshop sought to build their initiative, sense of responsibility, and ability to make sound, age-appropriate financial decisions.

In this context, Ms. Buthaina Al-Obaidli, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at MSDF, affirmed that investing in children’s abilities is a real investment in the future of society. She added that instilling a culture of entrepreneurship and financial awareness from an early age is a key pillar in preparing a productive and creative generation.

Al-Obaidli said: “The Young Investor workshop reflects MSDF’s commitment to moving the concept of empowerment from developing skills to building an entrepreneurial mindset among the younger generation. We do this by giving children the knowledge and values that enable them to think innovatively, manage their resources responsibly, and turn their ideas and ambitions into promising opportunities for the future.”

She added: “We believe that building a financially aware generation starts in childhood. For this reason, we are keen to offer distinctive programmes that promote a culture of productivity and initiative and support the family’s role in raising a generation with economic awareness and the ability to shape its own future, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

She explained that the cooperation with Wathiq Center in organizing the workshop reflects the importance of integrated efforts and community partnerships in delivering purposeful training initiatives that help discover children’s abilities and develop their skills.

For her part, Ms. Ghada Mohammed Al-Emadi, Head of the Empowerment Section at MSDF, said: “The workshop is a distinctive opportunity to instill a culture of saving, investment and productive work among children in an interactive, age-appropriate way. It also supports the family’s role in discovering their children’s abilities and encouraging them to turn their ideas into meaningful initiatives. This boosts the children’s self-confidence and prepares them to take a positive part in Qatar’s future development.”

Through organizing the “Young Investor” workshop, MSDF affirmed its commitment to continue launching distinctive initiatives that invest in promising talents and enhance their future role in supporting the national economy and achieving comprehensive development in the State of Qatar.
