MoSDF organises marital counseling workshop
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF), in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Education Center, has organised a marital counseling workshop, as part of its national project ‘The First Year of Marriage’.
The programme targeted young people who intend to get married and newly married couples (age 20-30) educating them about the basics of happy marital life.
The workshop was presented by the family counselor, Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla, at Qatar Youth Hostels Center.
The five-session programme covered a set of basic topics including social, psychological, legal, economic and health aspects.
During the workshop, the trainer, Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla, focused on common issues in the first year of marriage, and they were discussed with the trainees to find appropriate solutions to reduce the problem of divorce.
The programme is based on several axes. The media axis aims to create awareness of the importance of the first years of marriage for the stability and leading marital life successfully through using social media to reach the target segment.
The second axis is workshop which provides intensive training to the targeted young people of both genders on skills required to lead a happy family life.
The third axis is ‘Watad’ marital counseling service which aims to provide advisory services and proactive support to the target groups through various and easy means that suit the target segment.
The creative axis focuses on creating modern family tools that suit the target group and keep pace with the modern era to reach young people of both genders to raise marital issues.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family plays a vital role in organising marital counseling workshops for those intend to get married for enhancing understanding and awareness about various aspects of marital life.
These workshops cover a variety of topics for a happy marital life, and it focuses on several important aspects such as effective communication, teaching couples how to communicate properly, resolving disputes in constructive ways and financial planning.
The workshops also educate couples about the importance of mental and physical health and how to support each other in this aspect.
The beneficiaries of workshop are also taught how to share family responsibilities and their roles.
These workshops aim to provide couples with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a stable and happy marital life, and reduce divorce rates and marital disputes.
This project is being implemented with the support of the strategic partner for social development, the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM), which is an important contribution to building safe, stable families and a cohesive society.
It supports the efforts to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 through cooperation and coordination between the relevant authorities to implement purposeful activities, plans and programmes to achieve common goals for building happy family and responsible society.
