The Ministry of Social Development and Family signs an MoU with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies on social studies and research

The Ministry of Social Development and Family and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have signed a memorandum of understanding to activate the field of research and studies between both parties through conducting studies related to the social sector. The MoU, signed today Wednesday, 8 February 2023, aims to enhance cooperation in joint research and joint workshops in the areas of specialization of the Ministry and to co-develop activities on training and raising the efficiency of the Ministry staff.

It also concentrates on collaboration and exchange of experiences with regard to social studies and research, proposal and implementation of national strategies and plans related to family care, education of the society about the importance of family protection and family bonding, as well as preparation and implementation of the strategic and executive plan of the Ministry in line with Qatar Vision 2030.

The MOU was signed by His Excellency Mr. Ghanem Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry, and Ms. Iman Al-Sulaiti, Executive Director of the Administrative and Financial Sector at the DI.

Officials from both sides attended and witnessed the agreement that will contribute to the exchange of available experiences and information, to the setup of effective partnerships aimed to achieve the strategic goals, to cooperation in launching national initiatives that enhance social work, in addition to care and awareness programs and community activities.

In this regard, His Excellency Mr. Ghanem Mubarak Al-Kuwari, expressed his appreciation of the efforts of the DI and their active keenness to serve the community, adding that such cooperation is one of the basic aspects pursued by the Ministry to consolidate constructive collaboration with institutions concerned with social affairs, especially that the DI is one of the organizations that has experience in field social research, and social and family studies.

He pointed out that the signed agreement aims to spread awareness and community culture among all segments of society using various available means in order to achieve the best degree of cohesion, stability and integration.

This collaboration is an embodiment of the bonds of cooperation between the two parties and an affirmation of its importance as well as the importance of benefiting from the available capabilities to serve the two institutions. It is an endeavor to exchange information and experiences to raise the efficiency of performance of both parties, including developing, organizing, managing, and implementing programs and training courses to qualify the cadres working in social specializations.

From her side, Ms. Eman Al-Sulaiti expressed her hope that the memorandum will be a qualitative addition to both sides, opening new horizons of fruitful cooperation. She explained that it falls within the framework of the institute's main role of communicating with the various state institutions, and of achieving Qatar Vision 2030 in strengthening strategic partnerships and opportunities in specialized educational, training and consulting fields of common interest, in addition to strengthening partnership relations in the fields of research and studies.

Al-Sulaiti thanked the Ministry for this cooperation that she hopes will open broader areas in the implementation of its provisions in order to activate the partnership and elevate it to more fruitful and constructive relationships in the coming periods, God willing.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry is keen, in accordance with its terms of reference, to prepare and implement national strategies, plans and policies related to the care of the family and its members. It seeks to provide a decent life for Qatari families, which is only possible through increasing the efficiency of the workers in social specializations.  At the same time, the institute represents the distinguished national academic edifice among the educational institutions of the region and the house of expertise in many fields.
