The Ministry of Social Development and Family Participates in the Talent Festival Judging Committees

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Development Department, participated in the (Talent Festival) organized by Abi Ayyub Al-Ansari Kindergarten at its premises.

This year marks the 12th edition of the Talent Festival, launched under the slogan "Talent Under Spotlight." The festival aims to discover and nurture talented children in public kindergartens, both boys and girls, educationally and pedagogically. It also seeks to develop the children’s talents to meet their needs and prepare them to contribute to building a knowledge-based society and instilling fundamental standards and values in their spirit. The Talent Festival is endorsed by the Early Education Department for Kindergartens at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The festival embraced 155 children from 20 public kindergartens for both boys and girls. Various ministries, public and private institutions participated in judging the Talent Festival for children, including the Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Development Department, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by early education supervisors and members of the Board of Trustees to evaluate individual and group talents, the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Police Union, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, Aspetar, and the Visual Arts Center.

The talents participated at this festival included Quran recitation, acting out Quran stories, folk performances, mental arithmetic, artistic creativity, sung, young poetry, sports displays, and singing in English.

Mrs. Abeer Hassan Al-Dahaneem, Deputy Director of Affairs at Abi Ayyub Al-Ansari Kindergarten, stated that: "the effective role in nurturing children at this age and developing their talents meets their needs and makes them feel satisfied with what they present and the appreciation they receive for their achievements, in line with the Talent Festival slogan: 'Talent is a gift, discovering it is a duty, and nurturing it is a trust.' This should be aligning with the vision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to discover and nurture talented children in public kindergartens, develop and hone their talents to bring up a creative and pioneering generation in the future, who will lead the development and advancement of the nation."

Ms. Noura Al-Muftah, Family Studies Researcher at the Family Development Department of the Ministry of Social Development and Family participated in the Talent Festival judging committee, along with Dr. Noura Ali, Family Studies Expert at the Family Development Department. They judged the heritage performance presented at the Talent Festival.

Ms. Noura Al-Muftah expressed her joyfulness in participating in the Talent Festival's judging team, saying, "I am happy to be part of the judging team for the Talent Festival, this experience has given me insights into the mechanisms of program operations, the judging process, the skills to evaluate performances, identify their strengths and weaknesses. We look forward to contributing to such events in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to support children's talents and promote recreational and educational programs for children. I would like to thank Abi Ayyub Al-Ansari Kindergarten for giving me the opportunity to participate in judging this wonderful festival."

The judging criteria varied for each talent, but two general criteria were mandatory for all talents: time management and adherence to modest attire.

The festival was filled with joy and happiness, with all participating kindergartens achieving remarkable success. All children were honored at the end of the festival to enhance their confidence, build a sense of pride in their talents, and encourage them to develop their abilities for the future and to serve our beloved nation, Qatar. The first edition of the Talent Festival was launched in 2012, and this year marks its 12th edition.
