A citizen has inaugurated the official website of the Ministry of Social Development and Family yesterday morning in Al-Faisal Tower, when he applied for the e-services offered by the site according to his needs.
The citizen expressed his satisfaction with the ease of access to e-services in a short time, stressing that it will contribute to facilitating and reducing a lot of time and effort for Qatari family members.
The opening videos on the Ministry of Social Development and Family website are based on the slogan: "The family is the wealth of a nation", which reflects the ministry's interest in the family as a basic building block of Qatari society.
Enabling citizens to complete their transactions with ease:
With the launch of the new website of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, citizens are now able to shorten the time and effort to complete all the transactions provided by the ministry through the website, as the website provides all the services that were previously provided by the ministry in a paper form and are completed easily and conveniently through the ministry’s website. The services provided by the Ministry’s website to citizens are also many and varied, such as applying for a social security pension for divorced women, requesting the disbursement of a loan difference for senior employees, applying for a property deed, submitting a housing application for a widow in need, applying for a professional association’ registration, and many more. As soon as the site was launched, several citizens applied for the available e-services.
The Ministry supports "social initiatives" to enable creativity and innovation among citizens:
The Ministry of Social Development and the Family, through "Social Initiatives", seeks to enable creativity and innovation and provide opportunities for Qatari citizens to be part of the positive change in the family and society. The social initiative is an effective way to serve the family and society by presenting useful ideas that contribute to making change and leaving a positive imprint on the family and society.
The criteria for selecting the initiatives that individuals will submit to the Ministry are based on the following points: the idea needs to be creative, new and serves the family or the community, the extent to which the family and society need the proposed idea, the clarity of the goals and activities of the initiative, and finally, that the initiative provides a sustainable impact that benefits the family and society.
The mechanism for selecting the initiatives that will be submitted will be as follows: reviewing and evaluating the ideas and suggestions received by our competent team and notifying the initiative owner of the outcome of his idea evaluation via e-mail, in addition to ensuring that the rights of the owner of the initiative idea are preserved. Individuals can submit their initiative to the Ministry of Social Development and the Family by filling in the required information shown on the website.
The website of the Ministry of Social Development and Family contains several other sections, such as: news and articles, upcoming events calendar, a visual library. The Ministry's website also allows citizens to easily access relevant websites.
It is worth noting that one of the basic components of society stipulated in the permanent constitution of the State of Qatar: that the family is the foundation of society, based on religion, morals and patriotism. The law regulates the means to protect it, strengthens its entity, reinforces its bonds, and preserves motherhood, childhood and old ageing under it.
Article (10) of Emiri Decree No. (75) of 2021 defined the functions of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, which included: proposing and implementing national strategies, plans and policies related to the welfare of the family and its members, raising community awareness of the importance of protecting the family and family cohesion, supervising the organization of the charitable sector, providing social security services to those entitled, registering and notifying private associations and institutions and supervising them, proposing and implementing housing-related policies and following up on their implementation. In addition to collecting and analyzing data and statistics related to the family and benefiting from them in the relevant programs, plans and policies, in coordination with the concerned governmental authorities and private agencies, as well as preparing and implementing programs and other related services for all categories of beneficiaries of social security services.
