The Ministry of Social Development and Family enhances educational values through the ‘Snakes and Ladders’ game
"The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Development Department, participated in the graduation ceremony of students from Al-Huda School for Special Needs in collaboration with Al-Dana Girls Center to promote educational values through the ‘Snakes and Ladders’ game to instill a number of behavioral and educational values in society. The event took place on Thursday, May 23rd.
The department aims to enhance family cohesion and moral values through an informative activity for the school students, through the developed Snakes and Ladders game which includes various educational and social skills and values, aimed at raising awareness and motivating children to engage in purposeful play, promoting values that children should interact with through images and phrases.
Mrs Dhabiya Al-Meqbali, Director of the Family Development Department at the Ministry, stated that: 'the Ministry of Social Development and Family reinforces all its utmost efforts to achieve Qatar's National Vision 2030 through a range of strategic plans and programs that emphasize the importance of family protection and cohesion to achieve sustainable development, as the family plays a significant and influential role in the development and stability of society.'
Regarding the ‘Snakes and Ladders’ game, she explained that the game contains many positive terms and behaviors that raise the awareness of the player, such as prayer, healthy eating, family warmth, excellence and success, engaging in sports, helping others, and reading. It also draws attention to negative terms and behaviors such as addiction to electronic devices, withdrawal, aggression towards others, damaging property, disrespecting parents, and mocking others.
The Family Development Department is responsible for preparing and implementing the projects and programs aimed at developing and enhancing the cultural, educational, and entertainment aspects of children and youth, in coordination with relevant governmental and non-governmental entities in the country.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Social Development and Family plays a significant role in promoting stability and family cohesion through implementing a number of strategic plans and programs related to social pillar of the National Vision 2030, to achieve sustainable development.
The Ministry also collaborates with all social centers, institutions, and partners in various sectors to implement activities and events that focus on family solidarity and highlights its key role in instilling moral and positive values in children.
