The Ministry of Social Development and Family empower and train owners of productive projects (Al-Watan) through various activities
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, participated on the sidelines of the Build Your House Exhibition, showcasing 7 productive projects (from Al-Watan) during the period from May 13 to 16, at the Qatar National Conference Center. The aim was to market their products, economically empower them, and promote the productive projects (from Al-Watan) to the exhibition visitors.
The productive project owners showcased varied products including 4 projects specializing in coffee and food, and 4 other projects specializing in home furniture and decoration.
Considering the ministry's ongoing commitment to support productive project owners (from Al-Watan), home businesses are encouraged, and their products are promoted through exhibitions in which the Ministry participates along with various state entities to uplift productive project owners (from Al-Watan), introduce them, and assist them in developing their products and marketing them in the local market.
Ms. Shawq Al-Sada, owner of the Vintage Art project, stated that her project specializes in working on wood and refurbishing furniture, applying "mixed media," a type of art that combines more than one craft in pieces. Her participation in the exhibition aims to showcase the possibility of refurbishing furniture and doors with artistic touches.
Ms. Sharifa Al-Ajeel, owner of the Golden Art project, participated in the exhibition with a project features artistic paintings of various sizes, colors, and shapes which involves working personally on wood, canvas assembling, applying the base layer, and painting with oil, acrylic, and charcoal colors, followed by fitting the appropriate frame for the artwork. She emphasized: "The goal of my participation in the exhibition is to add artistic touches to homes and commercial projects as well, owing to their aesthetic effects that bring a positive spirit to the venue."
Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department, emphasized that the presence of owners of productive projects "from Al-Watan" at the ‘Build Your House Exhibition’ is an important and supportive opportunity for them. This participation serves as a marketing outlet for showcasing their products and projects to the exhibition visitors. Furthermore, their participation supports the state's economy and sustainable development, contributing to the achievement of Qatar's Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, which aims to enhance and empower productive projects within the national production base.
On another event, The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, participated in the second edition of the Independent Living Initiative for persons with disabilities and the Arab Exhibition for Productive Families. This was part of the fifth edition of the Global Forum for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain, held from May 14 to 16 on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in the Kingdom.
During the exhibition, various products from productive project owners (from Al-Watan) were showcased, including Sadu, clothing design, honey, and coffee. besides, products from other Arab countries were featured. This event is an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises to attract visitors, sell their products, and exchange experiences by learning from the participating projects, it also opens new markets for promoting products among Arab countries.
The high-level Arab event highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in empowering persons with disabilities and productive families, the use of modern technologies to support entrepreneurship for this group, the importance of the private sector in supporting their projects and enhancing their opportunities for active participation. This contributes to their economic and social empowerment, making them a productive segment of society, achieving progress, sustainable development, and independent living.
On another activity, the Ministry, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour an awareness workshop titled "Raising Awareness of Employers in Productive Projects about the Labour Law." The workshop aimed to inform the owners of productive projects (from Al-Watan) about the Labour Law, held on May 22 at the Social Development Center at Katara Cultural Village in the Pearl.
This collaboration comes as part of the Ministry of Labour's efforts to support community awareness and to familiarize the public with the key provisions of the law, regulations and rules governing labour, thereby serving the interests of entrepreneurs and project owners.
The workshop was presented by Dr Mohamed Yasser Rajab, Senior Legal Expert at the Ministry. He highlighted the main tasks undertaken by the Ministry of Labour in organizing the work environment and keeping balance between employers and workers. This includes discussing employment contracts, workers' financial rights, and other entitlements, the role of labour dispute resolution committees, and clarifying professional training contracts and the rights of employers.
The Labour Law is a set of legal rules that regulate the relationship between workers and employers. It is a branch of private law that focuses on governing relationships between individuals, ensuring workers' rights, and protecting them from arbitrary violation by employers.
Furthermore, the child Abdullah Al-Baker, participated in the second edition of the Independent Living Initiative for persons with disabilities with his own project, which is a financial program that facilitates instillment purchase with no interest. This project supports the artificial intelligence system.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family reaffirms its continuous commitment to support the owners of productive projects "from Al-Watan," particularly in the field of social development, as it is one of the Qatar's Vision 2030 pillars. The Ministry aims to achieve self-sufficiency and provide permanent marketing outlets for owners of productive projects "from Al-Watan" to ensure the continued dignified living for its people.
