The Ministry is preparing to celebrate “Family Day in Qatar” .. Minister of Social Development: A pivotal role for the family in construction and development

The Ministry of Social Development and the Family is preparing to celebrate the "Family Day in Qatar", which falls on the fifteenth of April of each year, in order to emphasize the importance of the family and its pivotal active role in the process of development and construction.

This year's celebration comes under the slogan "Qatar is strong, with the cohesion of its families", in a context where the Ministry of Community and Family Development is carrying out its responsibilities towards social and family development as a specialized ministry.

In a statement on this occasion, Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and the Family, said: The State of Qatar has always been a pioneer in choosing a day to celebrate the family, which is the backbone of society and its solid nucleus. It will be the first shield for development and prosperity in Qatar.

Her Excellency stressed that the great interest in the family comes from the wise leadership's belief in the centrality of the family in building and national development, adding, "The advancement of the family is the advancement of society, and this comes through concerted efforts to support and care for it and protect its security, stability and cohesion by investing in well-studied events and programs, which would Contribute to achieving the greatest degree of stability and family cohesion in society, in a way that enables it to face challenges, especially those targeting its value system and social contract.

Her Excellency the Minister of Social Development and the Family pointed out that social development is an integral part of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which clearly reflects the interest of the wise leadership of the country in building an effective system of social protection for all Qataris, that takes care of their rights, values ​​their effective participation in the national development process and dedicates their integrative roles in this process, based on the essential family.

She announced that the ministry is currently working on developing and maturing creative strategies and interactive methodologies directed towards families and their members through tools for collecting and analyzing relevant data and statistics and benefiting from them in implementing government programmes, plans and policies specialized in promoting societal growth through the essentiality of family stability and its humanitarian and human rights outcomes.

The Ministry’s program to celebrate Family Day in Qatar includes a variety of activities in attendance and through various communication platforms, while strengthening cooperation with various partners to celebrate this occasion, which represents an added opportunity to emphasize the roles of all institutions in the country in supporting the process of development and community building within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030, which It reinforced the orientation towards a family that enjoys strong bonds, inspired by the true Islamic religion and its solid and authentic value system.

In this context, the Ministry will illuminate its buildings in green to celebrate this occasion, which constitutes an opportunity to emphasize the importance of family cohesion and the common responsibility that all its members have towards themselves and the country's society.

The celebration program also includes a number of awareness lectures and targeted scientific seminars, in cooperation with the social partners: the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, and the Family Counseling Center “Wefaq,” including a lecture for “Migdam camp” members, entitled “Me, my family and Ramadan” and another public lecture. Entitled “Know Your Family Participation Level,” followed by a panel discussion entitled “Sports and Family Cohesion,” via video communication technology, presented by a number of family experts and counsellors. The program also includes a parallel electronic awareness campaign through the Ministry's accounts, specifically on the Twitter and Instagram platforms, and a sports and entertainment event for school students in cooperation with the "dazzling generation" of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, at the Uqla training ground in Lusail area.

With the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched a multi-faceted innovative initiative called “Yalla Namshi” through the Ministry’s accounts on social media platforms, with the aim of reviving and sustaining a community sports custom that Qataris have always practiced and associated with the holy month of Ramadan, represented in walking. Before breakfast time in public parks and malls.

This initiative is not limited to its sporting dimension, but rather seeks to enhance bonds of interdependence and communication among all family members, as it encourages the community to practice this healthy activity in an atmosphere that enriches interfamilial communication and provides an opportunity for a new type of behavioral reinforcement that supports family building.

This initiative relied on employing artificial intelligence in providing it with a scientific calculation that stimulates competition by setting a time limit for walking that brings together members of the same family as a whole (mother, father, wife, sons, grandfather and grandmother) in commercial complexes on the basis of achieving at least 10,000 collective steps per day. And receiving generous prizes allocated by the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, while taking comprehensive family photos for each winning family. As part of Ooredoo’s participation in this initiative, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, CEO of the company, said, “We are proud to participate with the Ministry of Social Development and the Family in this initiative aimed not only at the health level, but also at the social level. Practicing the activity of walking at the family level would strengthen family relations and contribute to the cohesion of its members, in addition to maintaining health and activity, especially during the holy month. The number of families participating in the initiative has so far reached 179, and the number of people participating has reached 679, while the total number of steps has reached more than four million steps.
