Minister of Social Development and Family honours leading figures and institutions in social work
Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad has honoured a distinguished group of administrative competencies, personalities, institutions and leading companies in the fields of work, social development and social work in GCC countries.
The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the ministerial meetings of the Civil Service, Labour, Affairs and Social Development in the GCC countries.
A total of 18 social activists and entities were honoured in recognition of their outstanding efforts in promoting community development and supporting target groups, including nine institutions.
They are Snoonu Company and Ajyal Educational Center from Qatar, Soroptimist Kuwait Society for Community Development, Zain Mobile Telecommunications Company from Kuwait, Abri Charity Team, and Petroleum Development Oman from Oman.
Nine activists in social work at the level of GCC countries were honoured for implementing a group of social initiatives successfully.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family lauds the role played by institutions and individuals in facing social challenges and achieving positive change in society.
The Ministry said that the honouring initiative comes as part of its commitment to promoting social work and encouraging individuals and institutions to adopt innovative and sustainable initiatives that contribute to building an integrated and cohesive society.

Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Fahd bin Mohammed Al Khayarin, on Friday, met with HE Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Diene Keita. Al Khayarin also met separately with the Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Rania Hedeya.
