Home-Grown Projects participate in Al Khor Second Ramadan Table Tennis Championship
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Department of Family Empowerment, is participating in the launch of Al Khor Second Ramadan Table Tennis Championship, with the participation of Home-Grown projects from 26 March to 28 March, as part of events sponsored by the State of Qatar during the holy month of Ramadan.
These sporting events shed the light on the continuous series of sports investment witnessed by the State of Qatar, and as a confirmation of the efforts that aim to create a safer, healthier, and more sustainable society, as the Al Khor Championship aims to enhance the participation of all members of society, and also seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of sports and physical activity.
There are 5 Home-Grown projects participating in the Al Khor Second Ramadan Table Tennis Championship this year, with the aim of promoting various national products. Their products mostly include perfumes, incense, and textiles, in addition to handicrafts, heritage heirlooms, works of art, and other activities that bear the nature of innovation and creativity.
As for their participation in this Championship, the Home-Grown products varied to between presenting traditional food items from authentic Qatari cuisine, which received great admiration from the audience and fans in the event.
In a related context, Mrs. Fatima Al Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department, stated in her speech: “The participation of Home-Grown owners in the Al Khor Championship represents a real and influential step that confirms the Ministry’s ongoing support.”
These events and activities are considered an opportunity to market their products and projects with the public and fans in a way that pushes them towards participating in the country’s economy and achieving sustainable development and contributes to achieving Qatar Vision 2030 and the third national development strategy, which stipulates enhancing the roles of productive projects and empowering them in the national productive base.
Mrs. Fatima Al Nuaimi added, “The Ministry of Social Development and Family is keen while taking important proactive steps to provide support to emerging entrepreneurs, and places them within a prepared road map to achieve the principle of sustainability and reach a prosperous future through active participation in various events, occasions and activities that coincide with the state activities in order to continue this path and push the national economy towards prosperity.”

Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, Fahd bin Mohammed Al Khayarin, on Friday, met with HE Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Diene Keita. Al Khayarin also met separately with the Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Rania Hedeya.
