Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, chairs Qatar's delegation at the meeting of Ministers on Housing Affairs in the Gulf Arab Cooperation Council in Muscat

Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, headed the delegation of the State of Qatar at the twenty-first meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held today in the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat.

Her Excellency participated in the dialogue session of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Housing, where she spoke about the Qatari legislative environment. Those laws related to housing were inspired by the country’s permanent constitution of 2003, which affirmed the right of the citizen to provide a decent life, which is its top priority by providing the subjective and objective conditions for decent housing.

At the same time, government policies are keen to stimulate the causes of self-development and the citizen’s ability to become economically independent, to be an active and productive element in the cycle of rights and duties dictated by good citizenship.

Her Excellency indicated that the Qatar National Vision has placed the human being as its priority, especially providing livelihood and a decent life for the citizen, and from the standpoint of achieving social justice, especially in the economic and life aspects.

Her Excellency stated that the state cared about the quality of urban and structural development projects during the 2023 World Cup period. She has taken great care to be sustainable, family-friendly, and accessible to everyone, especially to people with disabilities, to overcome the challenges of their optimal use of these projects.

A meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers followed the session, which discussed some files, most prominently the Gulf Housing Plan 2024-2030, the unified Gulf housing information bases, and the exchange of Gulf housing experiences. In conclusion, Her Excellency the Minister welcomed Their Excellencies, the participating ministers, to hold their next meeting in Doha, scheduled for the period May 14-16, 2024, under the presidency of the State of Qatar for the next session of the Council.
